I Want To Play" - Ivan Rakitic Unhappy At Barcelona, January Exit

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has expressed frustration at his lack of playing time and insists he wants to play more.

Rakitic made just his second start of the current season in the 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid last night.

The Croatia international still wants to stay at Barcelona but wants to play more frequently at the Spanish club.

"I do not understand the situation because I want to play. If I can play, there is no better place than Barca," he said, via Marca.

"I want to enjoy every day and if it can be here, much better."

During his time at Barcelona, Rakitic has won four La Liga titles and a Champions League trophy.

"I said that the ball had been taken from me to imply how much I like football," Rakitic added.

"But if I can play, there is no better place than Barca. What I want to do is enjoy, doing my best because I still have a lot to give.

"I have the confidence of my team-mates and if the coach puts me in, I understand that it will also be like that."

Rakitic has played just 320 minutes of football this season in the Spanish top-flight out of a possible 14 matches - with the arrival of Frenkie de Jong pushing him down the pecking order.
