Arsenal Coach Unai Emery has confirmed that captain Granit Xhaka will miss the club's next match against Wolves after his recent incident with the fans. Emery Insists Xhaka is 'not in my mind' to feature following his controversial reaction after being substituted against Crystal Palace last week.

Xhaka's patience, after being on the receiving end of persistent abuse both while he is playing and online, finally ran out when his name was jeered after his number went up against Palace.

Speaking on Xhaka, Emery said: 'The focus is the match. It's not in my mind he will play tomorrow [on Saturday]. It's not in my mind he's going to play. I am thinking he's not going to play.

'Now we need to be focused only, only 100 per cent on the match. At the moment he's not in my mind.

'Xhaka's issues last week is one issue that needs time. He needs to recover the normality in him.

'I want to finish with that. He said sorry. He gave apologies to the supporters and everybody. Now the focus is on Saturday's match.'

The already under-fire Swiss star trudged slowly off the pitch when Arsenal needed a goal.

He then goaded Arsenal supporters when they reacted by urging him to hurry up.

Xhaka then cupped his ears, told the baying crowd to 'f*** off' and angrily took off his shirt before storming down the tunnel.

Xhaka's reaction led to calls for him to be stripped of the captaincy and his apology, detailing the repeated vitriol he has been targeted with, didn't come until Thursday night.
