Irish boxer Lee Reeves is in a critical but stable condition in hospital after being stretchered from the ring following his defeat to Gary Cully in Dublin on Saturday night.
Reeves was challenging Cully for the vacant BUI Celtic super-lightweight title at the 3Arena when he was knocked out in the 10th round. The 31-year-old from Limerick received medical attention in the ring before being stretchered away and transferred to hospital.
Providing an update on Sunday, Queensberry Promotions said Reeves remains in a critical but stable condition.
"Lee Reeves is still in hospital, in a critical but stable condition," a spokesperson said.
"We will know more in the coming days, and our thoughts and prayers remain with Lee and his family."
Cully also expressed his concern after the bout, saying his thoughts were with his opponent.
"Hopefully he's okay," Cully said.
"He came in there as a big underdog after fighting relatively at a lower level up until now, but he really showed that he can operate at a higher level. Huge credit to him."
Queensberry promoter Frank Warren echoed those sentiments in a social media post, saying his thoughts and prayers were with Reeves and his family.
"Everyone at Queensberry is thinking of him and we're in constant contact with his team regarding his condition as we hope for positive news," Warren wrote.
Reeves' fight featured on the undercard of Pierce O'Leary's clash with Mark Chamberlain, which ended with the home fighter suffering a 10th-round knockout defeat.
