Nigeria’s 400m star and national record holder, Samuel Ogazi, is set to make his professional debut at the 2026 Ed Murphey Classic, scheduled for July 10–11 in Memphis, Tennessee.
The World Athletics Silver Continental Tour event will be the 20-year-old’s first race since turning professional following an outstanding collegiate career at the University of Alabama.
Ogazi will compete in a high-profile men’s 400m field featuring American teenage sensation Quincy Wilson, Jamaica’s Antonio Watson, Grenada’s Kirani James, Elija Godwin, Randolph Ross and several other top athletes.
The eNigerian ended his NCAA career in spectacular fashion, winning the NCAA Outdoor Championships in a record-breaking 43.38 seconds to set a new NCAA record and climb to fourth on the all-time world list, cementing his status as one of the brightest talents in global sprinting.
