Liverpool have intensified their pursuit of Bradley Barcola and are preparing an opening bid for the Paris Saint-Germain winger.
The 23-year-old France international has emerged as Liverpool's top target as the Reds look to replace Mohamed Salah, who departed the club at the end of last season.
PSG are believed to value Barcola at around £145 million, a fee that would shatter the British transfer record. However, Liverpool are hopeful of negotiating a deal closer to the £100 million mark.
Barcola has two years remaining on his current contract and is reportedly open to a move to Anfield in search of a new challenge after slipping down the pecking order at the French champions.
Liverpool had also shown interest in Yan Diomande, but the RB Leipzig winger is now expected to complete a move to Real Madrid, leaving Barcola as the club's priority attacking target.
