Spain defender Marc Cucurella has fulfilled his promise to get a tattoo of World Cup-winning head coach Luis de la Fuente following La Roja's triumph earlier this month.
Cucurella played a key role as Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in the World Cup final to lift the trophy.
"Promise kept," the Chelsea full-back wrote on social media, sharing photos and a video of the tattoo being completed.
After Spain's victory, De la Fuente joked that he fully expected Cucurella to honour his pledge.
"I've already told them, 'Did you make a mistake?'" De la Fuente said during his post-match press conference. "They did, but they'll enjoy it.
"I'm not so terribly ugly that they need to put it somewhere nobody can see it. But it makes me laugh, and I'm proud they keep their promises."
Cucurella became one of Spain's standout personalities during the tournament. He carried his wife's pyjama top throughout the World Cup as a lucky charm and recently revealed that he keeps his trademark long, curly hair because it helps his child easily spot him during matches.
