Leeds United are in negotiations to sign Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
The England international could leave the Etihad just one year after returning, with Leeds searching for a new first-choice goalkeeper following the departures of Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier.
Newcastle United and Aston Villa also showed interest in Trafford earlier this summer, although Villa are now expected to retain Emiliano MartÃnez.
Trafford, who was part of England's FIFA World Cup squad but did not feature, made 17 appearances for Manchester City last season, including four in the Premier League, helping the club win both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
The 23-year-old came through City's academy before loan spells at Accrington Stanley and Bolton Wanderers. He joined Burnley in 2023, making 73 appearances before City exercised their £27 million buy-back clause last summer.
However, the arrival of Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain limited Trafford's opportunities, prompting speculation over a move away from the club.
