Former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimović believes Zinedine Zidane must stamp his own managerial identity on the France national team when he succeeds Didier Deschamps as head coach.
Speaking to Fox Sports ahead of France's FIFA World Cup third-place playoff against England on Saturday, Ibrahimović backed the former Real Madrid boss to build on the foundation laid by Deschamps.
Zidane is widely expected to take charge of Les Bleus following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ending Deschamps' long reign at the helm.
Reflecting on Zidane's credentials, Ibrahimović pointed to his remarkable success at Real Madrid, where he guided the Spanish giants to three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles.
"Zidane did a good job at Real Madrid. He won three Champions Leagues," Ibrahimović said.
"We all know he is going to take the France national team. I think he will continue the work that Deschamps has built.
"He has the players. Now he must bring his own management to the team—the way he wants them to play and operate.
"I believe he is more of a manager than a coach because this team doesn't need a coach. They need a manager."
