Dursun: Osimhen Doesn't Suit Barcelona's Style

Former Fenerbahce striker Serdar Dursun has questioned whether Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen possesses the technical qualities needed to thrive at Barcelona, despite praising the Nigerian's goalscoring ability after another outstanding season with Galatasaray.

Osimhen enjoyed a prolific 2025/26 campaign, registering 22 goals and eight assists in all competitions as Galatasaray successfully retained the Turkish Super Lig title. His impressive form has intensified speculation over a summer move, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea all reportedly monitoring his situation.

Speaking on the Cup Diary programme on Spor Smart, Dursun insisted that while Osimhen is a top-class striker, his playing style does not align with Barcelona's philosophy.

"I don't think Osimhen can play for Barcelona. He's a talented player, but he doesn't have a clean technique," Dursun said, according to Fanatik.

The former Turkey international believes Barcelona's possession-based system demands a higher level of technical refinement than Osimhen typically displays, despite the Nigerian's physicality, pace and clinical finishing.

Dursun's remarks come amid reports suggesting Barcelona are prioritising a move for Argentina international Julián Álvarez over the Galatasaray striker, adding further uncertainty to Osimhen's future.

With pre-season fast approaching, the former Napoli star is expected to decide on his next destination in the coming weeks as interest from several of Europe's biggest clubs continues to gather pace.
