Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has been named in AC Milan's 26-man squad for the opening phase of the club's pre-season preparations under new head coach Ruben Amorim.

The Rossoneri will begin training at the Milanello training centre on Monday, with Amorim set to assess his squad before making key decisions on arrivals and departures ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Chukwueze, who has returned from a loan spell, has been handed the opportunity to impress the Portuguese manager as he looks to secure his place in Milan's plans for the new campaign.

The 27-year-old's inclusion comes amid uncertainty over his long-term future at San Siro after struggling for regular playing time in recent seasons and being linked with a move away from the club.

However, Amorim is believed to value the Nigerian's pace, versatility and ability to take on defenders, raising hopes that Chukwueze could play a more prominent role under the new coach if he performs well during pre-season.

"There are some players who weren't here last year. Chukwueze is staying with us; we need players who can play one-on-one," Amorim told SempreMilan.

Also returning from loan and aiming to impress the new manager are Francesco Camarda and Yunus Musah, while new signing Mario Gila has been included in the squad following his arrival from Lazio.
