Denmark striker Kasper Høgh says Celtic are a “really good match” for him after completing a record-breaking move to the Scottish champions.
The 25-year-old joined Celtic from Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt for a reported £11m fee, becoming the club’s most expensive signing. He is Celtic’s second summer arrival after Camilo Duran and has signed a four-year contract with an option for an additional season.
Høgh arrives after an impressive spell in Norway, scoring 54 goals in 103 appearances for Bodø/Glimt, including five goals in last season’s Champions League campaign.
The striker’s arrival comes as Celtic look to respond to fan frustration following the departure of Japan forward Daizen Maeda, who joined Ipswich Town.
Speaking to Celtic TV, Høgh said: “I’m so happy. When I came into the room and saw the shirt, I was really excited. The history of the club is so big. After speaking with people and my family, the feeling I had was that this was a really good match.”
Explaining his style of play, Høgh added: “I like to be in the box and score goals, but I also want to help my team-mates defensively and work hard for the team.”
Having already featured in league matches in Norway during pre-season, the Danish striker says he is ready for the challenge ahead.
“I feel ready. I just want to get started and be thrown into the fire.”
