Arsenal have officially confirmed the permanent departure of Jakub Kiwior to FC Porto following the completion of his loan spell with the Portuguese club.
According to football.london, the deal was agreed last summer and sees Porto sign the Poland international for an initial fee of £14.7 million. The agreement also includes a sell-on clause and performance-related add-ons.
The arrangement reached in 2025 also enabled Arsenal to sign Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen in a separate deal worth £34.5 million plus add-ons, a move that has now been completed.
Kiwior joined Arsenal from Spezia in January 2023 alongside Leandro Trossard and Jorginho. During his time at the Emirates Stadium, he made 68 appearances in all competitions under Mikel Arteta.
The versatile defender enjoyed his most notable spell during the 2024/25 season when he stepped in for the injured Gabriel Magalhães. He featured prominently in Arsenal's UEFA Champions League quarter-final triumph over Real Madrid, helping the Gunners secure a 5-1 aggregate victory.
However, the arrivals of Riccardo Calafiori and Cristhian Mosquera, coupled with the emergence of academy graduate Myles Lewis-Skelly, significantly reduced Kiwior's opportunities for regular first-team football.
Speaking to Łączy Nas Piłka, Kiwior revealed that he had an honest conversation with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta before leaving the club.
"The first conversation, when I asked to go out on loan, was quite difficult," Kiwior said.
"I had never done anything like that before, but I felt it was the right time to speak with him directly. He understood my decision and was very supportive."
