Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni has revealed the simple instruction he usually gives captain Lionel Messi before sending him onto the pitch.
Messi started on the bench in Argentina's 3-1 victory over Jordan in their final group-stage match but came on to score his side's third goal.
Asked what instructions he gives the Inter Miami star before introducing him, Scaloni replied with a smile:
"I just tell him, 'Go win the game.'"
The Argentina coach then joked that Messi is the one player who needs no tactical guidance.
"What else can I tell him? He's the only one who doesn't need any instructions. Are you really asking if I should tell him how to run or control the ball? That's ridiculous," Scaloni said.
