Nottingham Forest’s defensive duo Tash Pavelin and Jayda Pechova affectionately nicknamed “Pavlova” by fans—are back in focus as the club chase glory on the England stage.
The pair, who live together and have formed a strong partnership in the defensive circle over the past three seasons, were both recently named in the 2026–27 England Vitality Roses programme, putting them in contention for next month’s Commonwealth Games.
They learned of their selection within minutes of each other in late May while in the gym, sharing a celebratory moment during what has already been a demanding period of the season.
Forest, in only their second campaign, are now preparing for a historic Netball Super League semi-final against regional rivals Loughborough Lightning.
Pavelin said the pair were repeatedly refreshing their phones before receiving the news, describing the shared excitement as a special moment amid a busy schedule.
For Pechova, 21, the call-up also marked a significant personal milestone as she continues her return to the international setup after a challenging spell in her career.
