Manchester City stars Khadija “Bunny” Shaw and Yui Hasegawa have been shortlisted for the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Women’s Player of the Year award following outstanding campaigns.

Shaw enjoyed a remarkable season, scoring a league-leading 21 goals in 22 Women's Super League matches to help Manchester City secure their second WSL title. The Jamaican forward was also named the Football Writers’ Association Women’s Footballer of the Year in May.

Midfielder Hasegawa was equally influential in City’s success, playing a key role as the club completed a domestic double by also lifting the FA Cup.

Arsenal striker Alessia Russo, who finished runner-up to Shaw in the Golden Boot race, is also among the nominees, alongside England internationals Lauren James of Chelsea and Manchester United’s Jess Park.

Aston Villa forward Kirsty Hanson completes the six-player shortlist after scoring 12 goals in 22 league appearances for the Villans.

The winner will be announced at the PFA Awards ceremony in Manchester on August 25.
