England’s Lionesses have been drawn against Greece in round one of the 2027 Women’s World Cup play-offs as they begin their route to qualification for the tournament in Brazil.
The team must progress through two rounds of home-and-away ties to secure their place at the finals. If England overcome Greece, they will face the winner of Slovakia v Ukraine in round two, with the away leg played first. Fixture dates are yet to be confirmed, but matches are scheduled to take place across October, November and December.
Despite winning five of their six qualifying matches, England missed out on automatic qualification after Spain finished top of the group to secure the sole direct spot.
Elsewhere, the other home nations also discovered their play-off opponents. Wales will face Albania, Scotland take on the Czech Republic, Northern Ireland meet Portugal, and the Republic of Ireland will play Kazakhstan.
