Real Madrid have agreed a deal to sign Ibrahima Konaté on a four-year contract following the France international's departure from Liverpool.
The 27-year-old centre-back will join Los Blancos on a free transfer at the end of June after he and Liverpool failed to reach an agreement over a new deal, with differences remaining regarding his valuation and wage demands.
In a statement, Real Madrid confirmed that they had reached an agreement with Konaté "for him to become a Real Madrid player for the next four seasons, until 30 June, 2030."
Konaté, who is currently part of France's squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2021 in a £35 million move and went on to enjoy a successful spell at Anfield.
During his time with the Reds, he made 183 appearances across all competitions and won the Premier League, FA Cup, and two League Cups.
The defender recently admitted he was "deeply saddened" that he did not get the opportunity to bid farewell to Liverpool supporters during the club's final Premier League match of the season against Brentford on 24 May.
"At that moment, I didn't know it would be my final time wearing this shirt in front of you," Konaté said, bringing an emotional end to his four-year stay at Anfield.
