Charles Leclerc topped first practice at the Monaco Grand Prix, leading a Ferrari one-two ahead of Lewis Hamilton.

Leclerc was 0.226 seconds quicker than Hamilton, while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished third, 0.513 seconds off the pace. Mercedes duo Kimi Antonelli and George Russell followed in fourth and fifth.

The session saw drama when Isack Hadjar crashed his Red Bull at the second Swimming Pool chicane after losing control on entry, spinning into the barriers on exit.

Fernando Alonso also came close to a heavy crash at the harbour-front chicane in his Aston Martin, but managed to recover after a moment of oversteer that nearly sent him into the barriers.
