Chelsea captain Reece James has admitted he was devastated to see teammate Marc Cucurella leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Cucurella recently ended his four-year spell at Chelsea, completing a move to Real Madrid.
Speaking to talkSPORT from England’s World Cup training base in Kansas City, James expressed his disappointment at losing one of the club’s key players.
“Yeah, I spoke with him a few days ago,” James said.
“He’s an amazing player and, without a doubt, one of the best left-backs in the world.
“That’s football. Players move on, and transfers are part of the game. I’m devastated to see him leave, but I wish him nothing but success in the next chapter of his career.”
