Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, the Flamingos, will return to camp on Sunday as preparations intensify for their final qualifying round clash against Benin Republic in the race for a place at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The Flamingos, coached by Akeem Busari, were granted a short break after their dominant performance against Guinea in the previous round and will now reconvene at the Remo Stars Sports Institute.

Nigeria secured an emphatic 11-0 aggregate victory over Guinea, following a 5-0 win in the first leg and a commanding 6-0 triumph in the return fixture.

Benin Republic’s Young Amazons booked their place in the final qualifying round after overcoming Sierra Leone 5-1 on aggregate in an all-West African encounter.

The first leg between Nigeria and Benin Republic is scheduled for Saturday, July 5, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, while the return leg will take place a week later at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé, Togo.

The winner on aggregate will secure a ticket to the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, set to be hosted by Morocco from October 17 to November 7, 2026.
