Dominik Szoboszlai has insisted that Liverpool “belong in the Champions League” despite their 3-2 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Hungarian midfielder found the net as Liverpool fought back from two goals down to level the contest, but Kobbie Mainoo’s late strike ultimately sealed victory for the hosts and confirmed United’s qualification for next season’s competition.
Reflecting on the result, Szoboszlai expressed frustration but maintained confidence in Liverpool’s ability to bounce back, stressing that the club’s history and quality make them worthy of a place among Europe’s elite.
The defeat leaves Liverpool’s Champions League hopes hanging in the balance, with the team still needing strong results in their remaining fixtures to secure qualification.
