Ian Wright has named Jay-Jay Okocha as the most underrated player in Premier League history.

The former Arsenal F.C. striker made the remark while speaking on The Overlap, praising Okocha’s extraordinary talent and influence during his time with Bolton Wanderers F.C..

Okocha became a fan favourite in England for his flair, creativity and dazzling dribbling ability, despite never winning a major trophy during his Premier League career.

The Nigerian playmaker played a key role in helping Bolton avoid relegation in his debut season and later inspired the club to a sixth-place finish in the 2004/05 campaign.

Widely regarded as one of the most entertaining midfielders of his generation, Okocha also helped Bolton reach the 2004 League Cup final, where they lost to Middlesbrough F.C..

Speaking on the podcast, Wright insisted the former Super Eagles captain deserved far more recognition among the league’s all-time greats.

“Jay-Jay Okocha,” Wright said when asked to name the Premier League’s most underrated player.

“He should have got much more love. Bolton!”
