Fabio Wardley has ruled out a potential showdown with rising heavyweight star Moses Itauma, insisting the timing is not right for such a fight.
Wardley, who currently holds the WBO interim heavyweight title, said Itauma is still developing and does not yet need to face elite-level opposition so early in his career. The British boxer praised Itauma’s talent and potential but believes the youngster should continue building experience before stepping into major title fights.
Itauma, regarded as one of boxing’s brightest heavyweight prospects, has continued to impress with dominant performances and rapid knockouts, fueling calls for bigger fights against established contenders.
Despite ruling out the clash for now, Wardley admitted Itauma could become a future world champion if his development continues at the current pace.
