Ethan Ampadu says Leeds United are in a “strong position” after their comfortable 3-1 victory over Burnley boosted the club’s hopes of Premier League survival.
Leeds moved nine points clear of the relegation zone with three matches remaining following another assured display at Elland Road.
Despite the growing gap, Ampadu stressed the squad must remain focused as the season approaches its conclusion.
“We’re in a strong position, but there’s still work to do,” the midfielder said after the match.
“We can’t get carried away because every point is important at this stage of the season.”
Leeds controlled much of the contest against Burnley, showing confidence and intensity as they continued their push away from danger.
The result also moved the club closer to the European qualification places, capping another encouraging night for Daniel Farke’s side.
