Chelsea F.C. have officially unveiled Xabi Alonso as their new manager, with the Spaniard outlining his three main priorities at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking in an interview published on Chelsea’s official website, Alonso said his focus will be on “hard work, the right culture and winning trophies.”
The Premier League club moved to appoint the former Liverpool F.C. midfielder after Saturday’s FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City F.C. at c.
Alonso, 44, will officially begin his role on July 1, 2026, after signing a four-year contract with the West London side.
“There is great talent in the Chelsea squad, and it’ll be my great honour to lead it,” said Alonso, who previously managed Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Real Madrid CF.
“Now my focus is on hard work, the right culture and winning trophies.”
