Phil Parkinson said Wrexham missed a big chance after their 2-0 defeat to Birmingham City in the Championship play-off race.
Goals from Carlos Vicente and Christoph Klarer in the second half gave Birmingham a comfortable win, while Wrexham failed to score away from home.
Parkinson said two defensive mistakes cost his side, but he still believes they can finish in the top six with four games left.
He added that Wrexham created chances but lacked quality in the final third, even though they stayed competitive for parts of the game.
Despite the loss, Wrexham are still in the play-off race, just four points behind the top six.
