
Seven-time champion Ronnie O’Sullivan will start his chase for a record eighth World Snooker Championship title against China’s debutant He Guoqiang at the Crucible.
O’Sullivan, 50, will begin his first-round match in Sheffield on Tuesday and finish it on Wednesday.
He Guoqiang, ranked 47th in the world, is playing at the Crucible for the first time after beating England’s Jack Lisowski in qualifying.
Sixteen players from qualifying have joined the top 16 ranked players for the tournament.
Elsewhere, world number one Judd Trump will face Gary Wilson, while Kyren Wilson plays 19-year-old debutant Stan Moody.
Four-time champion John Higgins meets Ali Carter, and Mark Selby takes on 2024 finalist Jak Jones.
There are 11 Chinese players in the tournament, a new record, including several all-Chinese matches.
The 17-day championship starts on Saturday, with the final scheduled for early May and full coverage on the BBC.
