Northampton Saints snatched a dramatic late victory over Exeter Chiefs, winning 35-28 at Sandy Park in a thrilling Premiership clash that went down to the final seconds.
Fin Smith was the hero, scoring with just five seconds remaining to seal the win for the league leaders and keep them top of the table.
The match was fast-paced from the start, with Exeter going 14-7 ahead early on through tries from Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and Will Rigg, before Northampton responded through Alex Mitchell.
The Saints gradually grew into the game and levelled before half-time through Ollie Sleightholme, setting up a tense second half.
Exeter regained the lead after the break with a try from Campbell Ridl, but discipline issues proved costly as they were reduced to 14 men following two yellow cards, including one for Feyi-Waboso.
Northampton capitalised quickly, with George Furbank and later replacement Henry Pollock helping swing momentum back in their favour.
Even when Exeter looked to have salvaged a draw through a late try from Paul Brown-Bampoe and a conversion by Henry Slade, Northampton kept pushing and Smith delivered the decisive score at the death.
The result keeps Northampton firmly on top of the Premiership table, while Exeter remain in fourth after a heartbreaking finish.
