Shaun Murphy produced a dominant display to beat Xiao Guodong 13-3 and reach the 2026 World Snooker Championship quarter-finals with a session to spare.
The former Crucible winner was already leading 6-2 overnight and took control by winning seven of the next eight frames, sealing the match early with impressive breaks, including two centuries.
Murphy said he was “delighted” with his performance and is now aiming to win another world title, 21 years after his first triumph.
He will face the winner of the match between Zhao Xintong and Ding Junhui in the next round.
