Manchester City boosted their title hopes with a crucial win over Arsenal, cutting the gap at the top of the Premier League to just three points.
City made the breakthrough through Rayan Cherki, who showed great skill and composure in a crowded penalty area to score after already hitting the post earlier in the match.
However, Arsenal responded almost immediately, with Kai Havertz equalising after a mistake from goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose clearance rebounded into the net.
The second half remained intense, with chances at both ends. Erling Haaland hit the post before eventually finding the net with a typical close-range finish to restore City’s lead.
Arsenal pushed for another equaliser, coming close through Gabriel Magalhaes and Havertz, but could not convert their chances as City held firm.
The win moves City within three points of Arsenal and, with a game in hand, puts them in a strong position to take control of the title race.
