George North to retire from rugby after distinguished career

0

George North will retire from professional rugby at the end of the season, bringing the curtain down on a remarkable career.

The Wales legend earned 121 caps and scored 47 tries, helping Wales national rugby union team win four Six Nations titles and two Grand Slams. He also featured on two British and Irish Lions tours, playing three Tests.

North, who also starred for Scarlets, Northampton Saints and Ospreys, said it is the “right time” to step away after fulfilling his childhood dream.

Despite injury challenges, including concussion concerns, he leaves as one of Wales’ greatest players and will now turn his focus to the next chapter of his life after rugby.
