Colchester United say they are in detailed talks over a possible sale, amid links to John Terry being part of a takeover group.
The club confirmed discussions are ongoing but refused to name the people or companies involved, despite reports of a £14m bid linked to Terry.
Owner Robbie Cowling said no final details will be shared until a deal is fully completed, as he focuses on finding the right buyers for the club’s future.
Colchester have been trying to sell the club for some time, after previous takeover talks with other groups fell through.
