Real Sociedad reached the Copa del Rey final after a late penalty from Mikel Oyarzabal secured victory over rivals Athletic Club in the Basque derby.
Real Sociedad had already taken a 1-0 advantage from the first leg thanks to Benat Turrientes’s goal. Athletic struggled to create chances in the second leg and could not find the goal needed to force a comeback.
The decisive moment came late in the game when referee Cesar Soto Grado awarded a penalty after a VAR review for a shirt pull on Yangel Herrera. Oyarzabal calmly converted in the 87th minute to seal the win.
Real Sociedad will now face Atletico Madrid, managed by Diego Simeone, in the final.
