The Premier League has deleted a social media post about Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario after fans criticised it and the club complained.
The league had posted a video on X showing Vicario mis-hitting a free-kick during Spurs’ 2-1 loss to Fulham, with a sarcastic caption that many felt was mocking the player. The post was removed the next morning.
Tottenham contacted the Premier League, saying it was wrong for the league to make fun of its own players.
Spurs are now just four points above the relegation zone, having lost four games in a row and gone 10 league matches without a win before facing Crystal Palace.
