Pep Guardiola could face a two-game touchline ban after receiving his sixth yellow card of the season during Manchester City’s FA Cup win over Newcastle United.
The City boss was booked after arguing with the fourth official when Kieran Trippier fouled Jeremy Doku. Under new rules, six yellow cards for a manager leads to a two-match suspension.
Guardiola joked that he would “go on holiday” during the games he must miss. The ban means he could sit out City’s Premier League match against West Ham United and their FA Cup quarter-final.
However, he will still be on the touchline for the EFL Cup Final between Manchester City and Arsenal F.C. on 22 March.
