O’Shea says Ireland have Closure and are ready to move on from Czech loss

Republic of Ireland defender Dara O'Shea says the squad have had “closure” after their penalty shootout loss to the Czech Republic, which ended their World Cup hopes.

Ireland blew a two-goal lead in Prague and lost 4-3 on penalties, while the Czechs move on to play Denmark for a World Cup spot.

O’Shea says the team now needs to move on and focus on their friendly against North Macedonia at the Aviva Stadium and start building towards Euro 2028. “We can’t keep dwelling on what’s done. We need to focus on the next game and keep improving,” he said.
