Northampton head coach Sam Vesty says England may have lost their identity under Steve Borthwick after a poor Six Nations, where they lost four games. The RFU is now reviewing both the results and England’s playing style, which many see as too kick-heavy and defensive.
Vesty believes the pressure of playing for England is not an excuse, saying other teams like Scotland and Italy still have a clear identity, while England do not.
Although England played better in their close loss to France, Vesty questioned why they only showed attacking rugby when there was no pressure. He believes the real test is playing freely when matches truly matter.
