Liverpool say they are “appalled and disgusted” by racist abuse aimed at defender Ibrahima Konate on social media.
The abuse came after a challenge involving Victor Osimhen during Liverpool’s 4-0 Champions League win over Galatasaray, where Osimhen later suffered a forearm injury.
Liverpool called the abuse “unacceptable” and “hateful”, and said they are supporting Konate while working to identify those responsible.
The club also urged social media companies to take stronger action against racism online.
