Lewis Hamilton says he does not want to retire from Formula 1 until he gets to race in an African Grand Prix.
The seven-time world champion, who is half-African, has been pushing F1 bosses for years to bring a race to Africa, expressing frustration at delays and saying he will stay in the sport until it happens. Hamilton highlighted past talks about races in Rwanda and South Africa, but noted there is currently no imminent prospect.
Beyond racing, Hamilton also spoke about broader issues, calling for African nations to unite and reclaim control of the continent’s resources, criticizing historic exploitation by colonial powers.
