Galatasaray midfielder Noa Lang says his thumb surgery went well after a serious cut during their 4-0 Champions League loss to Liverpool at Anfield.
The 26-year-old collided with advertising hoardings in the 76th minute, injuring his right thumb. He received oxygen on the field and was stretchered off. Lang later shared a smiling photo from the hospital, thanking fans for their messages.
Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk called it a "bad injury." The club also confirmed Victor Osimhen suffered a right forearm fracture and is in a cast, with further treatment to be decided. Buruk criticized referee Pawel Raczkowski for allowing fouls that contributed to Osimhen’s injury.
Liverpool, who won 4-1 on aggregate, will face Paris St-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals.
