Andy Farrell praised Ireland national rugby union team for being “ruthless” in their 43-21 win over Scotland national rugby union team, which secured Ireland’s fourth Triple Crown in five years.
Ireland scored six tries in Dublin, with Tommy O'Brien scoring two late tries after Ireland’s defence held strong under pressure. Earlier tries came from Jamie Osborne, Dan Sheehan, Robert Baloucoune, and debutant Darragh Murray.
Farrell said Scotland “kept banging the door down,” but Ireland’s players responded with a ruthless edge in defence and attack. He added that the win was part of a bigger picture, praising the team’s resilience and the progress of players earning their first caps and Six Nations experiences.
While the Six Nations trophy is still up for grabs, Farrell celebrated the Triple Crown win, noting it’s Ireland’s fifth trophy in five years and highlighting the difficulty of consistently winning the honour.
