Galatasaray Supporters Banned from attending the Liverpool Second Leg Match

Galatasaray fans are banned from their club’s Champions League trip to Liverpool this month after causing trouble in their previous game against Juventus.

UEFA said the Turkish club’s supporters threw objects and set off fireworks during the last-16 match in Turin on 25 February.

Even though Galatasaray lost 3-2 that night, they won 7-5 on aggregate and will play Liverpool in Istanbul next Tuesday (17:45 GMT), with the return match at Anfield on 18 March (20:00).

UEFA has stopped Galatasaray from selling tickets to fans for the away game and fined the club 40,000 euros (£34,800).

Galatasaray said they plan to appeal the punishment.
