Mikel Arteta has hit back at criticism of Arsenal’s set-piece tactics, saying he is actually “upset” his side have not scored even more from corners.
Arsenal’s strength at set-pieces has been key to their title push, with 16 league goals coming from corners this season. However, rival managers including David Moyes and Fabian Hurzeler have criticised their physical approach and time management during corners.
Arteta dismissed the complaints as part of the job, insisting his team aim to be “the best and most dominant in every aspect” and saying football is evolving tactically, making set-pieces increasingly important.
