Katie Taylor has announced she will retire after a farewell fight in Dublin this summer. The 39-year-old two-weight undisputed world champion hasn’t fought since beating Amanda Serrano last July in their trilogy fight in New York.
Taylor hopes her final bout will be at Croke Park, though other Irish venues like the 3Arena or Aviva Stadium are also options. “I just want to fight in Dublin to end my career,” she said.
Reflecting on her 20-year career, Taylor called it “an incredible, remarkable journey” with highs and lows, and said she always wanted to finish it in Ireland.
