Sunderland have completed the signing of Ecuador winger Nilson Angulo from Anderlecht for £17.5m.
The 22-year-old has agreed a four-and-a-half-year contract, with the option of an extra year. Sunderland’s sporting director Kristjaan Speakman described Angulo as a quick and creative wide player who is eager to make an impact at the club.
Angulo joined Anderlecht in 2022 and recently signed a contract extension in September 2025. He leaves the Belgian club after three and a half years, having recorded 15 goal contributions in 30 matches this season.
He made his senior debut for Ecuador in October 2021 in a friendly against Mexico.
In other news, Sunderland winger Simon Adingra has joined AS Monaco on loan, with the move expected to become permanent.
