Stevenson wins fourth world title and challenges Benn

American boxer Shakur Stevenson dominated Teofimo Lopez to win the WBO light-welterweight title at Madison Square Garden, earning a unanimous decision with all three judges scoring it 119-109. The 28-year-old, now undefeated in 25 professional fights, became a four-weight world champion.

After the fight, Stevenson called out Conor Benn, who entered the ring and exchanged words. Benn told DAZN, “You’re too small for me… Come up to welterweight with the big dogs.”

Benn, 29, had recently moved up two weight classes to fight Chris Eubank Jr. and has said he plans to drop to welterweight to face the division’s champions. Stevenson, who has moved up from featherweight to light-welterweight, welcomed the challenge, saying he’s “a businessman” and willing to make a fight happen.

Both fighters are signed with Matchroom Boxing, which could make arranging a fight between them easier.
