Manchester City FC kept the pressure on leaders Arsenal FC with a narrow win over Leeds United FC at Elland Road.
Antoine Semenyo scored just before half-time to seal the victory, stretching to turn in Rayan Ait-Nouri’s low cross. The result cuts Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League to two points.
City were without injured striker Erling Haaland, and at times they looked like they missed his presence in attack.
Leeds started brightly and had big chances early on. Dominic Calvert-Lewin should have scored inside four minutes but somehow poked wide from close range after meeting Brenden Aaronson’s cross. He later fired another effort off target and was unable to add to his 10 league goals this season.
Semenyo’s strike proved decisive as City battled through a tough test, while Leeds remain six points above the relegation zone.
