India will face England in the Under-19 World Cup final after producing a record-breaking run chase against Afghanistan in Harare.
The five-time champions chased down a huge target of 311, the highest ever in Under-19 World Cup history, losing just three wickets and finishing the game with more than eight overs to spare.
Aaron George starred with a brilliant 115, while 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed a rapid 68 off 33 balls after being dropped twice. Captain Ayush Mhatre also scored a half-century as India cruised into their 10th World Cup final.
Earlier, Faisal Khan Shinozada and Uzairullah Niazai both scored centuries for Afghanistan, giving them hope before India’s batters completely took control.
Mhatre said the plan was simple—play freely on a good batting pitch. He praised Suryavanshi for removing early pressure and George for guiding the chase calmly.
