Emma Raducanu made an incredible comeback from 5-0 down in the first set to beat Slovenia’s Kaja Juvan in the last 16 of the Transylvania Open in Romania. The British number one won 11 games in a row to secure a 7-5, 6-1 victory, just her second match since parting ways with coach Francis Roig.

Raducanu admitted the start was tricky, saying Juvan “was putting me on the back foot straight away,” but praised her own effort to play aggressively and on her terms. She also noted that coming back from 5-0 down was a first for her, adding to her experience.

The top seed will face Poland’s Maja Chwalinska in the quarter-finals. Raducanu turned the match around by breaking Juvan multiple times, saving a break point in the second set, and taking control with powerful serves and forehands. Despite being broken once in the second set, she quickly regained momentum and sealed the win in one hour and 37 minutes.
