Gianluca Prestianni trained with his Benfica team-mates at Real Madrid’s Bernabeu even though he is suspended over a racism allegation.
The winger has been given a one-game provisional ban and is set to miss Wednesday’s Champions League play-off second leg against Real Madrid in Spain.
Vinicius Jr claimed he was racially abused by the Argentine after scoring the winning goal in Real’s 1-0 first-leg victory. Prestianni denies racially abusing Vinicius.
Uefa handed him the temporary suspension, and although Benfica are appealing the decision, it is unlikely to change in time for the match.
Despite this, Prestianni was seen training on Tuesday, hoping the ban could still be overturned so he can play.
